Design in Flight Issue 2

Issue 2 of the excellent PDF magazine Design in Flight is now out, including my article on creating the interface icons for NetNewsWire 2. This is my first ‘proper’ article, and I found the process rather daunting, especially after reading the first issue, where the quality of the articles was so high.
The question I get asked the most is ‘How do you create icons?’, so hopefully the walk-through will be useful.

At $10 for a year’s subscription Design in Flight its a snip, and Issue 2 contains articles by Eric Meyer, Keith Robinson, Eris Free and many others.

I can’t remember how I got to the DF site about two weeks ago… something was very appealing about it and suscribed for a year…

Its an excellent magazine.. and well knowing that Jon Hicks would be writing for the second issue just made it more interesting. I read the article in the morning… very educational!.. I always wondered how to create snappy icons.

Good work Jon, and check out DF! I liked the first issue, liked the second even more!

Just thought I’d let you know that I bought this magazine purely for your article and I was certainly not disappointed. I’d never really “got” Fireworks but having just completed your tutorial I will be using it for web graphics a lot more.

Thanks again for providing an insight into what is normally a very Magic Circle-like subject.
