Shiira section up

For those who care, there is now a Shiira section. Here you can grab the updated theme – I’ve just got one more replacement icon to do. All future updates will be posted there. I hope someone finds it useful.

Since this is a quazi-discussion on Shiira, have you noticed that it never saves form fields/passwords/etc. I never get prompted to save, and it apparently, unless i’m totally missing something, never puts any thing into the keychain. Thanks for any advice/tips/info/help/etc.

Also there aren’t many tips on macosxhints.com yet either :/

Seth, you have to remember that Shiira is still very early stages. They’ve only just implemented printing, and autofill/keychain access isn’t there just yet. Mind you, the pace of development is such that we probably won’t have to wait very long!

Yeah I’ve been more than happy with Shiira. There are some page rendering differences with it and Firefox, so I hvae been having to make some adjustments, but on the whole, it’s been outstanding and FAST for me.

Jinketsu – i’m in the process of updating the camino theme too. It will use the same buttons, will include others like the the Download Manager.

For Safari, I’ve been using the following URL (hard returns in the URL added to keep display correct here) in my bookmarks bar as a quick “email this URL” link. It doesn’t seem to work in Shiira anyone have any suggestions for how to modify it?

Kevin – Bookmarklets aren’t enabled yet. If you look at the Shiira roadmap, they’re planning t o introduce them until v1.0 :o(

Thanks, Jon – I found the roadmap now and see the bookmarlets bit. Bookmark management is the weakest link in Shiira right now since they can only be saved to the default location and can be a bit fiddley to edit/move. Still, a wonderul little browser for such an early project. I LOVE the Info-center window option for downloads, how it pops up and shows the download begin then fades away until the download is finished, then fades back to the front. Slick!
