site design updated

25 Jun 2003

Now that Safari 1.0 has been released, which renders the overflow:auto property correctly, I have uploaded my new site design using this method. Mention must also go to Web Page Design for Designers who finally solved the mystery of vertical CSS centering for me.

I have also added the option to change the style – at the moment I have just added ‘Betsie’, mimicking the BBC’s accessibility software. This is one of the real advantages of CSS & XHTML – the ability to change the look by just creating a new style sheet. No ‘text-only’ versions, just the same HTML page with different ways of looking at it. As time allows I’ll add a few more themes – akin to Jeremy Keiths site Adactio.
